In a wildly absurd ritual, Butoh-Cabaret artist Yumi Umiumare takes on the notion of ‘oriental’ in the context of moving and living in ‘foreign’ spaces. With humour and darkness Yumi explores the cracks between disorientation and familiarity, destruction and attraction.

Two people melt with the sand matter and contrasting colours of the dunes. A meshwork of connection and release, rest and movement is woven out of dance scenes and happenings - a natural freedom of movement.
